13 things I've learned in 24 life-changing months...
In the past 24 months I’ve had eight major surgeries (five in the space of two weeks), nearly died twice, survived flesh eating bacteria (aka necrotizing fasciitis), sepsis, and septic shock, left a job that I loved, lost a parent, and effectively had my entire world turned upside down. I am not looking for sympathy. I’m just stating the facts.
I'd like to share just a few of the things I’ve learned during that incredible journey in the hope they can help someone else:
1. You’re much tougher than you think.
2. Treat yourself with as much kindness as you’d show a good friend.
3. Believe in yourself.
4. Invest in your health – both physical and mental.
5. There is no such thing as fear – it serves no purpose.
6. Sail with the wind … focus on the things you can control … the right opportunities will follow.
7. Always be learning. Buy every book that looks interesting – if you learn one thing then it’s worth every penny.
8. Only spend time with people who have personal integrity and who you like and respect.
9. Treasure your relationships.
10. Serve others, there’s no need to sell.
11. Quality lasts and a little luxury goes a long way.
12. Yoda got it right … “Do. Or do not. There is no try.”
13. Tomorrow is always a new day. Appreciate that there are not an infinite number of tomorrows.

Love it ! You are an example to me because of your strength and principles.
