Wow, this was so moving Jacqui. We don’t often think of the recovery and its impact. So interesting about your hair returning differently, I didn’t know that.

Thanks Francis. Initially I had no idea that the hair loss was related to my being so sick and nobody thought to tell us it might happen after having sepsis. I felt so unprepared to deal with it when I was still trying to process what had happened to me. I know other people who have lost hair from chemo and they too had changes in hair colour and texture when it grew back. I still find it so strange that my (non-grey) hair came back in a colour so close to Dads when he'd died just a few weeks before I got sick.

It’s so fascinating! My sister developed Alopecia after a really traumatic experience, and it grew back grey, but she was older so it was no surprise re the colour but I always thought I wouldn’t know what I’d do if happened to me. I always thought Gail Porter was incredible! She lost all her jobs when she lost her hair after the breakdown of her marriage! The experience of the assistant washing your hair was painful but heartfelt.

I have so much respect for Gail Porter. I loved my long hair and found it incredibly hard to lose it all. But now - with the help of Regaine - my hair is so thick and grows incredibly fast. Soon my long hair will be back in full force... 😁

Extraordinary how hair can change after falling out! You must be so relieved it grew back, and even with curls! The two photos of you are both really good portraits of you with great hair!

Thank you Sue! And yes it was so strange, but I'm so happy that it'snow even better than before. 😎

You’re very welcome! As indicated, your story responds to me. Regarding hair: I asked my husband to bring spray leave-in conditioner which I applied very generously :) it didn’t make my hair look better but in time I was able to comb through… I’m slated for the hair salon on Tuesday so all straw will be culled and all grey will be red again!

So glad you managed to comb it through! Have a wonderful time on Tuesday - I know how lovely that felt the first time I went and it made me feel just a bit more human again. Enjoy!
