Oh my word Jacqui. What you have lived through and how you maintain sanity with that much fear. There are so many medical conundrums we need to research. I'm so pleased you are free from it. x

This is exactly how I felt after our son recovered from NF. I was desperate to understand why it had happened, but of course couldn't get any answers. So then was terrified it would happen again. He pulled me through it by recovering and being happy

Oh wow Cooky - I know how hard NF was for my husband and those around me. I'm so glad that this post resonated and that his recovery also helped you! I love hearing about others that have also survived a battle with these nasty critters.

You were much sicker than he was, those hallucinations sound absolutely terrifying. You are bound to get a form of PTSD after such an extreme near-death experience.

I'm actually glad to hear he had a milder version, I don't wish what I had on anybody - it's bloody scary whatever version you have though. The hallucinations stuck in my mind for a long time - even now I can still close my eyes and see some of those images. Thankfully there's no fear associated with them anymore.
